Trip recap

My trip to Mexico City was an incredible mix of design, architecture, food, and culture. From the moment I arrived, I was swept away by the city’s creative energy and vibrant atmosphere.

I stayed at XOMA Boutique Stays, which felt more like a thoughtfully designed sanctuary than a hotel. It set the tone for my entire trip. My first evening started with a snack at Café de Nadie, a cool and artsy spot, followed by browsing beautiful vintage pieces at Trouvé and Chic by Accident. Dinner at Máximo was unforgettable—elevated Mexican cuisine in a cozy, chic setting. I ended the night with cocktails on XOMA’s rooftop, soaking in the city lights.

Friday was packed with culture and inspiration. Breakfast at Malcriado was a delicious, laid-back start before heading to the stunning Biblioteca Vasconcelos and Fundación Casa Wabi. These spaces were architectural masterpieces—modern yet deeply rooted in Mexican artistry. Palacio de Bellas Artes was equally breathtaking, with its blend of art nouveau and deco styles. I spent the afternoon exploring Chapultepec’s lush park, its historic castle, and the incredible Museo Nacional de Antropología, which was as inspiring for its design as its exhibits. Dinner at Lina was a perfect end to the day, and of course, I had to cap it off with churros at El Moro—an absolute must.

Saturday focused on design and modern architecture. Panadería Rosetta served the most beautiful breakfast pastries, and then I explored Javier Sinosaian’s work at Conjunto Satélite and Parque Quetzalcóatl—both awe-inspiring. Pirwi and Xinu Perfumes were a dream for design lovers, showcasing innovative and sustainable creations. Museo Jumex and Museo Soumaya blew me away with their striking architecture and incredible art collections. Dinner at Somsaa was an elegant treat, and the night ended at Licorería Limantour, one of the best cocktail bars I’ve ever been to.

Sunday was a sweet farewell to the city. I started with pastries at Gala Panadería and coffee at Bou, then had a hearty breakfast at Mendl Delicatessen. My final stop was Originario, where I felt so connected to Mexico’s cultural roots through its beautiful blend of food and art.

Every moment of this trip felt intentional, from the stunning spaces I explored to the unforgettable meals and creative energy. Mexico City truly felt like a playground for anyone who loves design and culture as much as I do.
