Concept
Perched on a mountain ridge in Desert Mountain, Arizona, this project was a complete top-to-bottom remodel that turned a dated space into a soulful sanctuary inspired by the airy, classic feel of Santa Barbara. We moved away from the typical desert look, focusing instead on "hand-touched" details that you can actually feel, like smooth, waterproof Moroccan plaster (Tadelakt) on the walls and custom concrete features that add a modern edge. By mixing in beautiful handmade tiles, one-of-a-kind mosaic patterns, and vintage mirrors and hardware we hunted down specifically for this house, we gave the home a sense of history it didn't have before. It’s a perfect example of how we take a house with "good bones" and use authentic materials to create a space that feels elevated, cozy, and totally unique to the mountain.
